Welcome! I only see many of you a few times a year at art shows but I'd love to keep you informed about my projects year round! I'm eager to have a more involved customer/artist relationship with all of you. Sharing the process of my work with my audience inspires me, so visit often or subscribe to hm² jewelry for updates on upcoming shows, my current lines of work, to post questions, comments, special orders, or to shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/hm2jewelry
Wearing body adornment is an intimate way for one to celebrate a piece of art while allowing others to appreciate it as well. Accessorizing adds a unique flair to any individual. I design and create pieces of jewelry that can be enjoyed by all audiences.
My designs have been inspired by a variety of themes and interests in my own life. I take these inspirations, simplify their inherent qualities, and extract their aesthetic elements to incorporate into my metalwork. Architectural and mechanical rudiments have always been underlying references when designing. Though my current line suggests both of these, I have gravitated towards what lies within the cosmic universe. Since my earliest memories, astronomy has always intrigued me, laying the path for my most recent work, reflecting this curiosity I have with the outer limits. Imagery related to black holes, celestial patterns and lunar elements are interpreted through my jewelry.
I have also been drawn to lunar vehicles and satellite equipment and therefore incorporated their mechanical elements into my designs. Their lines, angles and hard edges emerge; however, I extract the coldness by integrating smooth curves, circular elements and primitive textures on the metal.
The diverse range of influences that inspire me as an artist converge to create a cohesive body of work. Each piece is one of a kind and subsequently, a feeling of uniqueness is attained by those who wear my jewelry.
